It’s that time of year. The tree is set, the phones are connected, and Oak Crest TV and Philanthropy are ready to raise some money. It’s the 8th Annual Benevolent Care Fund Telethon, only on Channel 973!

This year is an exciting telethon for a few reasons. First and foremost, it’s the first telethon for new Philanthropy Manager Stacey Schiano, and new Philanthropy Coordinator Beverly Venedam. They definitely have some big shoes to fill, but if the Benevolent Care Gala in September is any indication, those two will have no problem raising money for those four hours.

While we’ll be welcoming Stacey and Beverly to the telethon excitement, we’ll be saying farewell to a member of the team as well. Television Production Coordinator Chris Taydus will be finishing his time at Oak Crest on the day of the telethon. Chris will be taking over as the Manager of the Television Station at Oak Crest’s sister community Riderwood in Silver Spring, MD. Since things will be hectic in the studio on Chris’s last day, please take an opportunity to stop down to the studio on Monday, November 28th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM to say farewell (Click here for more information).

It’s not all Hellos and Goodbyes though as the telethon will be full of fun and excitement. The whole show kicks off with ‘Carpool Karaoke’ with Josh Runkles & Executive Director Mark Roussey. Based on the popular segment created by late night television host, James Corden, Josh and Mark will drive around the Oak Crest campus talking about Benevolent Care and singing their favorite songs. A few special guests may join in as well.

The telethon will also include performances by the Oak Crest Line Dancers, resident Duke Baugh, and some Oak Crest staff members, Stacey and Chef Joe Bollinger making Christmas cookies, a tribute to the 20th Anniversary of the Oak Crest Treasure Chest, and much much more!

The telethon will air live on Channel 973 from 10 AM till 2 PM on Friday, December 2nd only on Channel 973. If you miss the telethon, the show will be available the following week at http://www.oakcresttv.com, and you can catch highlights from the show at 7 PM, 9 PM, and midnight. Telethon highlights will also air at 10 AM, 2 PM, 7 PM, 9 PM, and 12 AM on both Saturday and Sunday on Channel 973.
