Next week, Channel 973 will be airing two shows that have shown much interest for many residents; scams and falls.
Fall is here which means the holidays are right around the corner. With that being said, scammers are getting ready to pounce. They know “holiday season” is the prime time to sell products and if they try hard enough, they just might be successful.
The presentation will go over multiple different types of scams such as identity theft, credit card scams, phone scams, and so much more.
Last month on Legaline, we talked about what happens when these people try to call you. Most of the time they talk extremely fast to confuse you, causing you to become very flustered in hopes that you will just agree with whatever they are selling. One tip that was shared was asking for their contact information to call them back at a later date. Most of the time they will immediately hang up the phone.
Also airing next week is a show about household safety and campus falls. Again, falling is something that has happened to all of us at one point or the next, and it’s a scary feeling. But fear no more! Temica Hopson and Angie Stiars share some tips and tricks on how to keep your apartment clean and some things you can do to be more prepared.
Grab rails, bath mats, and step stools are all things that are extremely beneficial to many of the residents here at Oak Crest. In fact, a majority of the residents at Oak Crest have had changes to their bathroom to add more grab bars for safety when getting in and out of the shower. Angie encourages everyone to contact her if you would like some of the things she mentioned in her presentation added to your apartment.
Scam Prevention will air on Wednesday, October 18th and Household Safety will air the following day on October 19th. Make sure you tune to Channel 973 at 10AM, 2PM, 7PM, 9PM, or 12 midnight to stay alert and pick up some tips. Both programs will also be available 24 hours after they air online at oakcresttv.com.
