This past Monday, Oak Crest residents, staff, and vendors set out to raise money for the Benevolent Care Fund. The day opened with a little bit of rain and fog, but after about 20 minutes the sun started shining and a beautiful breeze hit the course.
I spent most of the day talking with the golfers and seeing if anyone got a hole in, resulting in winning a brand new Jeep.
Spoiler Alert: no one won.
Beautiful shot of one of the brides along the course at Rocky Point
Special shout out to Josh who drove the golf cart around and avoided some massive puddles…and also dodged some other obstacles. It was really nice to step outside of the studio for a few hours and see everyone having a great time and enjoying the weather.
Everyone I spoke with was so excited to be part of such a great event. Even some of the vendors were thrilled to be playing on such a beautiful course, on an even more beautiful day. I think there were about 120 people in attendance-a great turnout.

The theme of the day was definitely how wonderful Rocky Point was. Everywhere you looked you were surrounded by water. Don’t worry, you’ll see all these views when the segment airs. And yes, we did get drone footage. And by “we” I mean Josh…I don’t fly the drone anymore…
Gorgeous aerial shot of Rocky Point Golf Course using the drone
A special thanks to Stacey, Bev and all the volunteers who made this such a successful event. They netted over $22,000 for the Benevolent Care Fund. Right on par!
Jim Antonakos before his drive (added pressure because we filmed him)
Make sure you watch Channel 973 on Friday, August 4th to see more shots of Rocky Point Golf Course and see who I spoke to and what they had to say. You can also watch this program the following day at oakcresttv.com.
