If you’ve grown up in Baltimore you are very familiar with the ever popular B&O Railroad. You’ve probably walked past it as a child or maybe even ridden your bike around the neighborhood. Well, all these years later the B&O Railroad you know and love is back…but this time at Oak Crest.
Speaker, Dan Toomey is very familiar with the B&O Railroad having acted as a curator for some of the exhibits. He has written 12 books about various topics involving the war along with many things that have happened in the city of Baltimore. His lecture takes you back to the very beginning of time before the railroad was even established. The pictures he shows you through his presentation really show you how no one had any clues or insight into how to build a railroad. It is amazing to see how they went from having horses pulling cable cars, to actually creating a huge train for this process.
