During the summer months there are so many places to go and so many things to see in the surrounding area, which is why the Oak Crest Network is always on the road! Next week, we take a trip to the Concord Point Lighthouse and the Keepers House in downtown Havre de Grace.
The lighthouse is located right by the water in Havre de Grace, Maryland, which is only about a 40 minute ride up 95. It was built is 1827 and is one of the oldest lighthouses in operation on the East Coast. It has been fully renovated and you are even able to walk inside and get a beautiful view from the top. Unfortunately for us, the day we went it rained tremendously, so we were unable to go inside due to the slippery steps.
During the tour we heard from an older man who grew up in Dundalk but moved to Havre de Grace to spend most of his adult life. He was very familiar with the area and shared things about the Lighthouse along with more information about the Chesapeake Bay. He noted how the area where the lighthouse was built was a relatively small area in comparison to other lighthouses in the area. The Concord Point Lighthouse is a very popular site for weddings since it is right on the water.
This show will air on Oak Crest Now on Channel 973 on Friday, July 15th at 10AM, 2PM, 7PM, 9PM, and 12AM. It can also be viewed the following day at oakcresttv.com.
